Muslims usually have two meals during the night; one, when the fast is broken after sunset, while the second one is before sunrise.

This change in pattern of eating can affect other activities of your daily lives.

The Ramadan fast is a type of intermittent fasting which can be more challenging than other kinds of intermittent fasting.

Exercise: maintaining physical activity throughout this period is very essential for you and your significant other’s overall health and vitality. Incorporate light/moderate exercises such as yoga, stretching or walking, to improve your flexibility, circulation and mental clarity during the times you’re not fasting in order to avoid fatigue and dehydration.

Limit external stimuli: Create moments of stillness and solitude, by disconnecting from digital devices, social media, reducing exposure to other stuff that may overwhelm your senses or disrupt your inner peace.

You and your spouse should prioritize activities that promote relaxation and mental clarity.

Listen to your body: Pay attention to your body’s signal and honour its needs during fasting; like feeling fatigued/sick, prioritize rest and self-care. Respect your body’s limitations and adjust your fasting routine accordingly for overall well-being maintenance.
